So explain to me how these states are going to increase healthy eating and active living when their food has been poisoned by industry and their air reeks of burning oil and toxic chemicals....

Obesity is a consequence of poor decision making. Home foreclosure is a consequence of poor decision making. Violence is a consequence of poor decision making. Cigarette smoking is a consequence of poor decision making. Poor educational attainment, school drop out, teenage pregnacies are a consequences of poor decision making. These and many more are symptoms of a style of behaving, cultural values, choices made for immediate gratification with consequences for the individual person as well as the children they beget. Poor decision making parents are teaching their children how to be poor decision makers. Unfortunately, society has to reach down into the early life of children, tell the parents they are behaving badly, tell them how and why they need to behave differently, and then implement controls. Draconian? You bet. Unconstitutional? Probably. Necessary to alter the obesity and all the other consequences of parental poor decision making? Likely.

Called education reform...teach people how to perform critical thinking...and keep them away from big pharma....so they can think. Wouldn't hurt to teach them about nutrition...nothing more empowering!
