We've all been told that sunlight causes skin cancer. This message has been drilled into our heads for so long that most people actually believe it. But what if this "truth" was actually a medical myth?

the exhaustive research states: "Remove as many clothes as you can. Start by sunbathing for 2-3 min each side. Gradually increase from day to day to a maximum of half an hour per side in the UK, less abroad"

and "If feeling hot or uncomfortable expose a different area, cover up, or move into the shade. If continued exposure cannot be avoided, as in some sports, use sunscreen cream"

• Why the effort to censor the truth about sunlight as medicine is a dark, evil scheme dreamed up by for-profit cancer institutions and drug companies who profit from the suffering of human beings.

• Why the cancer industry wants you to live in darkness and be afraid of light, knowledge and illumination.

Go Health Ranger....excellent video...thanks. Also fats consumed in summer is critical. Pare down the omega 6 in red meats, and up omega 3, 6, 9,12 found in fish, flax seeds, and coconut oil. Bad fats sizzle the skin...good fats make skin supple, protected along with the antioxidants he suggests. Chlorella is an excellent recommendation due to its detox properties along with antioxidants.

I think its important to look at all the evidence. There definitely is new research showing how a vitamin D deficiency is something we have over looked and is of concern for our health. That being said, I don't see any scientist saying that you should never use sunscreen. The answer, I believe, is in finding the balance between sun exposure and sun protection.

I always thought this was true. My middle son's skin became red and swollen and felt like sandpaper the first time i tried to put sunscreen on him. Since then I don't use any sunscreen on any of my children and instead we go to the beach later on in the day when the sun is not as hot and the kids wear their t-shirts swimming. They rarely ever get colored or burned but still have direct sunlight to help with vitamin D.

Gozo..

Here is a link to the university of Calif.San Diego on Vit.D and cancer.

This paper used worldwide data only recently available through a new tool called GLOBOCAN, developed by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer. GLOBOCAN is a database of cancer incidence, mortality and prevalence for 175 countries.

The researchers created a graph with a vertical axis for breast cancer incidence rates, and a horizontal axis for latitude. The latitudes range from -50 for the southern hemisphere, to zero for the equator, to +70 for the northern hemisphere. They then plotted age-standardized incidence rates for 175 countries according to latitude. The resulting chart was a parabolic curve that looks like a smile.

This is another link about Diabetes type1 in kids, and deficiency of Vit.D. Kind of interesting, when I grew up, in the 50's, there didn't seem to be any kids with diabetes that were in my school. We did play outside in the sun all the time though.. and sun block wasn't even around then.. I have never used it.., nor put it on my kids when they were little.. I know this isn't the only answer to childhood diabetes, the diet, HFCS and such have a lot to do with it too, but additional D3 in the diet or through supplements could help. Optimum Sun here is from May to Sept...at this latitude..in the northeast..

It is such a shame to see little kids on ads for the drug co's diabetes testing equipment........
