After my son was born, the house we were renting had a flood; the landlord refused to take care of the problem and within a few months we wound up with a black mold problem so bad the township mold expert I called in told us we had to leave right then and there; it was the worst he'd ever seen.

We had all been sick and feeling crummy for months. We are lucky we didn't suffer any long term effects.

At my place of employment, the CEO had Stachybotrys Chartarum growing in his sinuses so he had the A/C system and ducts replaced without touching mold soaked fiberglass ceiling insulation. (Would have required a permit, legal guidelines for removal, require evacuation of the building). When the ceiling tiles were removed we were exposed to dripping Stachybotrys and Aspergillious, so our genoius risk manager placed gigantic fans around to dry out the mold (so it wouldn't drip on heads, furniture, carpet etc.). The worst thing you can do. So I'm stuck in my cubicle, working on a court report that is due, and they hand out painters masks for our protection from high velocity toxic mold spores. After three days of this...I was nearly dead, along with several other employees. CalOSHA would not help us, Workers Comp would not help us, even the County Health Dept. wouldn't help because it was the "County" that was breaking the law by not removing the mold per state statute. They insisted that we had sick building syndrome that is relieved when you leave the environment. Wrong. We had immune system disorders, asthma, cancer, stillbirths, cognitive, skin, eye disorders....no one helped us, everyone covered up for the Government...again! And the survivors are left sick, disabled, or dead with NO recognition or punishment for the perpetrators of this disaster!

Toxic molds can increase your susceptibility to a wide variety of diseases by weakening your immune system.
