My boss' nephew served in Iraq and he got exposed to uranium. The military refuses to pay for his bills although he's been diagnosed with uranium poisoning. If you hear of any organizations that can help this young man, please let me know!

I served in Iraq as well and have all the symptoms of GWS, I wonder how many other vets from oif/oef have them as well?

What does it mean "The military refuses to pay for his bills"? Has he been refused treatment at a VA Hospital?
- 4 votes
They began treatment but when he discovered it was uranium poisoning they told him it wasn't their problem so he has been going to other hospitals for treatment. The military won't pay for those bills.

"Veteran’s health care is not just for service-connected injuries or medical conditions." Quote from VA website.
Holly, are you saying the government is lying to vets and the public regarding health care for our vets? [insert sarcasm here]

Holly, contact the organization mentioned in this seed...I'm sure they can give you a lead.

BTW-I think old Ross P., while a crazy Texan for the most part, is one hell of a man IMO, by helping his fellow man like he does.

Holy,
I'm not sure you have gotten accurate or all the facts. I don't think I could get better healthcare than I've gotten at the VA.

That could very well be; my boss is kind of a private person.

Are you a Vet currently receiving health care from the VA?

Your childish assumtions are off topic and incorrect to boot.
And I'm not you pal.!!!
Really? I'm crushed.

Most of us who served are proud to have served. Nothing childish about that!!! That's called patriotism!!!

Again, you assumed I'm not proud. All I posted was, that it would not be discussed here. Don't hide your ignorance and disrespect behind the mantle of patriotism. It makes you look fake.

Goober just something I notice, maybe you have since you lumped yourself in with us vets is that the VA @!$%#ING SUCKS. Take note, let them know I said that because I've told the director of my va to his face that, in those words. But I have no other choice and its better than nothing. And for your obama care supporters go check out a va sometime, because that is where healthcare would be heading.
To those who never stepped foot inside one (the va) go to the psych ward, those used to be people at one time. You should pray for their souls.

You're either very naive and gullible or this is a lie. Should I guess?
- 2 votes
Well it's not a lie or I wouldn't have been stupid enough to post it here. I don't understand the reason for attacking me like this. I'm just trying to get some help for my boss' nephew.

goober.....what's your point? It's getting lost in your adjectives. Condescending language makes one appear to be short a french fry in the happy meal.....

This comment, based on the words of a secretive/private man is specious and accusatory posted as fact and potential to harm the reputation of a venerable military agency.

Maybe your overreacting to an inquiry. Let's focus on intent...

My boss is a woman. What happened was the military "lost" his records and said he was never in Iraq and made him pay back the money he was paid while he was supposedly not there. They also refused to treat him as they said he was never there. I got an update just now and they have "found" the records so they are treating him, but never gave him back the pay he earned while he was in Iraq. Thanks for your concern. Detracking.

Holly, thank you for sharing your story...real world experiences are often more meaningful than citing statistics. We all support our troops...and appreciate them beyond measure.

You're welcome, GOZO. I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar experience.
- 2 votes
Most likely, many have. You are precious to me as are the troops who are suffering out of sight and out of mind. Take my love and care with you...as I take yours with me.

Thanks for the update, Holly
I am concerned. What we write and say and, even how we say it, makes a huge difference. Had you posted this comment originally, we would not have had an issue.
Let's focus on intent...
Many people's intentions are questionable, GOZO. Trust is something one has to earn!. Now you can return to topic!

goober.....no need to alert me to "trust". I'm psychic....another topic.

Psychic, huh??? From the few comments of yours that I have read, I'd tag as arrogant conservative. But I'm open minded.

The message wasn't meant for you. Those who sold high into the double dip made out. I will never connect with your energy....your vibe is total projection...no substance.

your vibe is total projection...
What does that mesn?
- 1 vote
Goober.....I am talking about psychically predatory projecting behavior. The natural predator is an innate element in the psyche of all human beings. This archetype developed in the preconscious human mind as the desire to overcome the laws and limitations of Nature, and gain power over the forces of life and death. This desire arises from an inflated sense of superiority, delusions of power, and the determination to dominate.

I hope you don't expect me to be impressed with this rant, since I don't trust it to be your writing, You should make the proper attribution.

- Neurotic projection is perceiving others as operating in ways one unconsciously finds objectionable in yourself.
- Complementary projection is assuming that others do, think and feel in the same way as you.
- Complimentary projection is assuming that others can do things as well as you.
I guess you could take your pick. *wink*

Let's focus on the complementary projection....with self awareness and consideration.
